    • Auditors get audited, too! But who audits the auditors?

We hold ourselves accountable and adhere to rigorous professional practices, and consistently perform our own quality assurance reviews.

In 2023, as required by the Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA), a qualified and independent professional performed an assessment of Northeastern University’s Audit & Advisory Services’ practices and processes. This assessment was performed to validate our conformance to the IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics, and to identify any improvement opportunities. It also assessed the effectiveness and efficiency of our internal auditing activities. We received a “Generally Conforms” rating, which is the highest rating possible. This means we have policies, procedures, and a charter in place, and the performance and results of these areas are evaluated to be in conformance with the Standards.
